Consultants can help you determine how to best take care of your pastures. We will use web-based applications to help evaluate soil and forage suitability. While not as in-depth as in-person consultations, we will be able to create a helpful and thorough assessment based on phone and email conversations as to current state of your pasture. We can then help you to achieve the best pastures based on management techniques. From increasing productivity through interseeding, to changing up grazing rotations, simple changes can really make a difference. Healthy pastures mean healthy horses, which is always our goal. With all of our pasture planning and farm consultations, we always strive to provide several options to each client, so that they can pick what works best to meet their needs and fit their budget.
On average, consultants will spend approximately an hour of prep prior to any phone interview, which can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour for the initial interview. It may then take another 2-4 hours, depending on size of ranch, to create your personalized program. Contact us for a free estimate! |
The best way to maximize your pasture productivity is for our consultants to visit your property and get an in-person assessment of layout and functionality. Consultants will be able to take forage samples to evaluate quality and production, which can help to target how to better manage your pastures. If wanted, soil samples can also be taken to evaluate any pasture fertility needs (at an additional cost). Species composition is also an important part of overall pasture productivity, which will be evaluated at each visit.
For on-site consultations, you can expect at least one hour of prep prior to the visit, with an additional 2+ hours at each site, depending on size of property, topography differences, and horse needs. After the visit, consultants will spend on average 3-5 hours developing your personalized plan, depending on size of your property. Contact us for a free estimate for your particular farm or ranch. |
